It is also the age of the Gothic cathedrals, their stained glass and the tapestries woven for great halls. The pages take up that vocabulary, the ornate initial, the rule, the foliate border, without ever imitating a false parchment. The illuminations reproduced come from the Breviary of Isabella of Castile and the masters of the Middle Ages, sources verified and credited.
